Miaoli Detention Center has recognized the insufficient space for counseling and guidance within the correctional facility, and the trend of deploying professional personnel to correctional institutions. Therefore, there is a need to expand the dedicated counseling and guidance facilities. By utilizing the existing space (newly acquired center) for construction and renovation, the center aims to create a space that meets the standards of a therapy room in terms of square footage and independent space, in order to enhance the effectiveness of professional counseling.

The institution hopes that individuals in its care can relax and understand their own difficulties in this peaceful and warm space, alongside a psychologist. Through discussion and clarification, they can find possible ways to cope with their problems or tangled emotions, and ultimately find a way to settle their thoughts and find an outlet for their lives.
