The Dragon Boat Festival is approaching. The Miaoli Detention Center of the Ministry of Justice Correctional Agency has launched a family support and assistance program before the festival. They initiated the "Timely Rain - Material Care" program, identifying 2 detainees who qualify for low-income assistance. Although one detainee's family member did not meet the assistance criteria. The center learned during a Mother's Day phone call event that their home had caught fire. As a result, the center provided Hakka rice dumplings and vouchers made by the Miaoli Detention Center, and connected with relevant social resources - the Double Bliss Welfare And Charity Foundation to provide assistance such as rice, noodles, oil, salt, and eight-treasure porridge.
Based on the principle of fulfilling social responsibility, Miaoli Detention Center also pays attention to the fact that there are still many elderly people who are lonely, helpless, and suffering from illness in society and urgently need assistance. Therefore, they specially prepared 380 meat dumplings, which were delivered to the hands of these elderly people through the Miaoli branch of the Huashan Foundation. Director Huang Zhengyong expressed the hope that vulnerable elderly people can feel the warmth and care of society during traditional festivals. Through this caring activity, local vulnerable elderly people can also feel the festive atmosphere and have a warm Dragon Boat Festival.
