To strengthen family support functions for inmates and enhance emotional bonds, the Miaoli Detention Center organized a series of reunion activities on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The events began on September 23, 2025, with a Mid-Autumn Festival phone reunion, benefiting 605 families and connecting loved ones through heartfelt conversations. This was followed by face-to-face reunions for inmates on September 25 and for juvenile inmates on September 26, with a total of 81 inmate participants and 166 enthusiastic family members, creating heartwarming and touching moments.
At the face-to-face reunion venues, tea was served, along with mooncakes and mung bean pastries specially handmade by members of the Center’s baking class, adding festive warmth to the occasion. The ocarina class also performed music, further enhancing the heartfelt atmosphere. Director Chiang Ching-Lung attended in person, extending holiday greetings to all inmates and their families, while encouraging inmates to reform themselves and live up to the earnest expectations of their loved ones.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family reunion. Through these activities, emotional bonds were strengthened, allowing inmates and their families to share precious moments of togetherness. These experiences not only help inmates adjust their state of mind but also serve as a vital source of strength for their new beginning.
