以詩歌為收容人帶來溫暖與關心

On the eve of the year-end Christmas season, in order to care for disadvantaged inmates and convey hope and blessings, the Miaoli Chapter of the Prison Fellowship Taiwan visited Miaoli Detention Center on the morning of December 18, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Led by Pastor Peter Chiu, a total of 15 volunteers held a “Christmas Joy and Testimony Service,” bringing warmth and care to inmates through hymns, personal testimonies, and blessings.

Prior to the start of the event, Ms. Wu Tsung-Ju, Secretary of Miaoli Detention Center, delivered opening remarks on behalf of the institution, sincerely expressing gratitude to the Prison Fellowship for its long-term dedication to addressing the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of inmates. She also thanked the organization for its strong support and assistance in various rehabilitative programs, serving as an important source of companionship and strength for inmates during the lowest points of their lives.

The testimony service featured a rich and heartwarming program. In addition to hymn singing, whose melodious voices soothed and comforted hearts, a successfully rehabilitated former inmate, Mr. Huang, was invited to share his personal journey. He spoke candidly about how, during a time of confusion and loss, he found direction through the guidance of Jesus Christ and the support of the Prison Fellowship. With courage, he faced his past, successfully reintegrated into society, and ultimately built a new and fulfilling life. His sincere and moving life story deeply touched every inmate present.

The most touching moment of the event came when an inmate, witnessed and blessed by all attendees, received baptism during the service. This act symbolized a rebirth of life through faith and marked a renewed commitment to a hopeful future. The atmosphere was solemn, sacred, and deeply moving.

Miaoli Detention Center stated that religious care and life testimony activities not only help stabilize inmates’ emotions but also guide them to reflect on their lives and rebuild positive values. The Center hopes that, through the continued love and support of all sectors of society, inmates may find hope at life’s turning points and move forward on the path toward renewal and rebirth.
